Just How Many Visas Have Been Revoked During Trump's Travel Ban?

According to a government lawyer appearing in a Virginia courtroom Friday, more than 100,000 visas have been revoked in the week since President Donald Trump signed an executive order temporarily banning travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S.

CNN reported the figure comes from the Office of Immigration Litigation within the Civil Division of the Justice Department's Erez Reuveni, who was asked by a U.S. District Court Judge. However, the State Department disputed Reuveni's number, telling CNN that fewer than 60,000 visas have been provisionally revoked since Jan. 27. According to USA Today, the State Department said Reuveni's figure includes diplomatic and other categories of visas that were exempted by the travel ban in addition to expired visas.

"President Trump's unlawful, unconstitutional, and un-American immigration ban is causing real harm as we speak to Virginia families, students, businesses, and our colleges and universities," said Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring via USA Today.

So, to sum up, President of United States signed the new decree that prohibits the entry of travelers from seven countries, what countries are these?

Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

But, why is he doing this?

According to him:

"Protect the nation from terrorist attacks by foreigners"

But this isn’t an excuse; do terrorist attacks happen in the United States every day or only in that country?

But what happens next?

Let's start with mass protests and strikes around the country, condemnatory messages from some of the world's major powers, a reduction in tourism in the country, loss of profits for the many businesses that foreign residents have, among many more.

So, Mr. Trump, why do you go ahead with this?

Discrimination has no justification.

Personally, if Trump goes on like this, USA tourism and other factor I said before will be greatly affected. If it is true that this country attracts millions of tourists from all over the world, you can not afford it for racial or personal reasons, losing tourism for it.

Finally, I just want to say:

“No matter your social status or how powerful you feel you are, we are all EQUAL. We came here by birth and will leave in death.”
